Terms of Use
The ground rules for using RooBucks.
These terms explain what RooBucks provides, what we ask of you, and the limits that apply when you use the website and its calculators.
Effective: 18 September 2026
Pre-launch legal review pending
These terms are a plain-language operational draft. The operator details, governing State or Territory and legal wording must be confirmed through appropriate professional review before broad public promotion.
Section 1
Agreement to these terms
These terms apply when you access or use the RooBucks website, calculators, converters and content. By using RooBucks, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms. If you use RooBucks for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so on its behalf.
Section 2
What RooBucks provides
RooBucks provides free, general-information calculators and converters designed primarily for Australian users. Results are estimates based on the information you enter and the assumptions, rates and rules described on the relevant page.
RooBucks does not provide personal financial, tax, legal, credit, investment, accounting or other professional advice. Use of the website does not create an adviser-client, fiduciary or professional relationship. RooBucks does not apply for a product, make a transaction or communicate with a provider on your behalf.
Section 3
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- checking that your inputs are complete and accurate;
- reading the assumptions, inclusions, exclusions and applicable dates;
- confirming important figures and current rules with official sources;
- obtaining appropriate professional advice before making a significant decision; and
- keeping any information stored in your browser secure, particularly on a shared device.
Do not rely on a RooBucks result as the sole basis for a financial, property, employment, tax, legal or investment decision.
Section 4
Acceptable use
You may use RooBucks for lawful personal or internal business purposes. You must not:
- use the website to break a law, facilitate fraud or mislead another person;
- interfere with the website, bypass security controls or test for vulnerabilities without written permission;
- introduce malicious code or attempt unauthorised access to systems or data;
- use automated access in a way that unreasonably burdens the service or ignores published crawler controls; or
- present RooBucks content or results as personalised professional advice or as an official government determination.
Ordinary search-engine indexing, accessibility tools, browser features and reasonable linking to public pages are permitted. RooBucks may take proportionate technical steps to restrict traffic that threatens security or service availability.
Section 5
Availability and changes
RooBucks aims to keep the website useful and available, but uninterrupted, error-free or permanent access is not promised. Maintenance, faults, external-service failures, security events or circumstances outside reasonable control may interrupt access.
Calculators, content and features may be corrected, updated, replaced or withdrawn. Changes to rates or rules may take time to identify and implement. Where a calculator is date-sensitive, use the displayed period and review information to decide whether it is current for your purpose.
Section 6
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, RooBucks owns or is licensed to use the website design, branding, original text, software and other original materials. Government data, third-party source material, names and trade marks remain the property of their respective owners.
You may view, use and make a reasonable personal copy of public RooBucks content and may link to public pages. You must not reproduce a substantial part of the website, remove attribution, imply endorsement, or use the RooBucks name or branding commercially without permission, except where the law allows it.
RooBucks claims no ownership of the facts or figures you enter. Calculator results may be copied for your own use, subject to these terms and any rights in underlying third-party material.
Section 7
Third-party services and links
RooBucks may link to government agencies, reference sources and other third parties. The Currency Converter also retrieves a reference-rate basket from Frankfurter. Those services are operated independently and may have their own terms, privacy practices and availability limits.
A link or integration is provided for convenience and source transparency. It does not necessarily mean RooBucks endorses the third party, its products or every statement on its website. RooBucks is not responsible for third-party content or services outside its reasonable control.
Section 8
Warranties and limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right, guarantee, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, RooBucks is provided on an "as available" basis. RooBucks does not promise that every result is complete, current, suitable for your circumstances or free from error. Examples, assumptions and external data may not reflect the terms offered to you or all rules that apply to you.
To the extent permitted by law, RooBucks is not liable for loss caused by your inaccurate inputs, use outside a calculator's stated scope, failure to check an important result, or a third-party service outside RooBucks' reasonable control. RooBucks does not exclude responsibility for loss to the extent it was directly caused by RooBucks and cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Section 9
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how calculator inputs, browser storage, technical request information and third-party services are handled. It forms part of the information you should read before using RooBucks.
Section 10
Disputes and governing law
If you have a concern, please use the Contact page so RooBucks has a reasonable opportunity to understand and address it. The current contact address is a pre-launch placeholder and must be replaced with a monitored address before launch.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Australia. You and RooBucks submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts that have authority to hear the dispute. The operator's governing State or Territory will be specified after it is confirmed and before public launch.
Section 11
General terms
If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it is to be read down to the extent necessary or severed, while the remaining provisions continue to operate. A delay in exercising a right does not waive that right.
RooBucks may update these terms to reflect changes to the website, law or operating practices. Updated terms will be posted here with a new effective date and will apply to future use. If you do not agree to an update, stop using RooBucks.
Review status
These terms have not yet received external legal review. RooBucks will seek appropriate review of the legal wording and regulatory implications before broad public promotion.
